Wax Museum Facts due: Tuesday, February 21st Wax Museum: Friday, February 24th Spelling List Test: Friday, February 24th Physical Science Test: Wednesday, March 1st Narrative Writing Field Trip: Friday, March 3rd You are invited to the Wax Museum Please feel free to stop by to see your kiddo perform at the Wax Museum in the 600 and 700 pods from 1:30 to 3:00. The kiddos will take a break from 2 to 2:20. On Friday, please send in your kiddos costume and props. If they are able to wear some of their items to school, please do that. It will help with changing! Math: Students will extend their understanding of fractions by multiplying a fraction to a whole number. Students will then start to learn how decimals and fractions are related. They will continue to review the previous unit of adding and subtracting fractions throughout this unit. Students will need to practice the spelling of their words. The words are the same from two weeks ago. They begin with Inter or end with Scope. The Vocabulary words this week are Idiom and Adage. They will need to practice the definition of these two words. Writing/Grammar: Students will continue with their Narrative stories. Most kiddos are on the publishing stage with a few finishing up last minute details. They are turning out great! We can’t wait to see all the finished products! Students will also continue to apply what they learned from our Figurative Language Unit to write a Color Poem that includes different types of figurative language. Poetry - ELA Students will learn about types of poetry. The focus the week will be on Haiku, Free Form, Limericks, and Cinquians. Science: This week we will have our last Engineering Project. We no longer need any more recyclables for this. Thank you for all of your donations for this. It has been so fun to see what the kids chose to create! We will also begin to finish up our Physical science unit and start reviewing for our final test on Wednesday, March 1st.
