They will explore Area and Perimeter, Problems involving money, and Line Plots! Our text over this Topic will be on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will be starting our LAST math topic for the school year. Topic 16 is over Lines, Angles, and Shapes! This is a fairly long math topic and we will have MAP test and State testing throughout, so it will take all of April to complete. In May, we will have a few fun math review days and we will be using all of our 4th grade math skills to plan an end of the year party! ELA: This week, classes will be finishing up with Bound for Oregon and the Oregon Trail. This concludes Unit 7 in Benchmark Advance. We will begin Unit 8, Earth Changes and next week we will start reading Night of the Twisters. This is a 4th grade favorite! Spelling: We do have spelling words this week! These are our first 5 words for Unit 8. We will continue adding 10 more words over the next two weeks. Our test over all 15 words will be on Friday, April 13th. Disappeared Impossible Unbelievable Destruction Unprepared: not ready for something Science: Students will continue in their Earth Science Unit and will start to explore different Natural Disasters! This ties in perfectly with our Earth Changes unit in Benchmark Advance and with Night of the Twisters! Social Studies: This week we will be wrapping up with our Oregon Trail unit. We will complete our journey on the Oregon Trail on Friday. Students will keep journaling and working on their Oregon Trail projects this week. We will start our next unit, Economics, April 16th. This is when the Ridge Town madness will begin! Yay!
