Half day! Math: This week we will start our LAST math topic! That is craziness! This will be Topic 15: Solving Measurement Problems. Students will focus on Area and Perimeter, problems involving money, and Line plots. After this, we will take our Fast Bridge Math assessment. To end the year, we will be doing a few fun activities. These include: Measurement cooking day, Measurement Olympics, and planning an end of the year party by doing math we have learned all year in 4th grade. ELA: This week students will work to finish up their Night of the Twisters projects. They are creating a Smore poster online. These will include the title, author, characters, the setting, two examples of problem and solution from the novel, and a summary. On Friday, we will get to celebrate by watching the Night of the Twisters movie! We will then compare and contrast the novel, Mrs. Harris's perspective, and the movie. Writing: Students will work to finish up their in class poetry projects. Spelling: Students received their spelling lists on Friday and will be tested over those words this coming Friday, April 19th. Our vocabulary words go along with our Economics unit we are starting this week. Vocabulary: Supply- how much of something is available to sell Demand- how much of something people want to buy Advertising- drawing public attention to or promoting goods and services Science: We will continue in our Earth Science unit. We will learn about processes that shape our earth. Students will explore rapid changes to the Earths Surface this week. On Wednesday, we will be skyping with a Yellow Stone Park Ranger to discuss these changes. Social Studies: Students will continuing learning about Economics this week. They will specifically learn about marketing, advertising, supply and demand, and trading/importing goods. Book Club: Quarter 4 Book Club book is A Long Walk to Water. We will meet to discuss this book on Monday, May 13th.
